Staff are great, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel is very accommodating and has a super onsen. Breakfast is super, where else could we get 6 choices of ice cream at breakfast.

In addition to the questions I already answered, I think the mood of welcome, tolerance of any foreigner social mistakes we may have made, and the overall kindliness of every staff person we met.

I'll simply say I stayed there before, was thrilled it hadn't closed permanently because of covid and I look forward to staying there again. It's a great hotel.
